Self-defense
In self-defense we do a lot of exercises with our partner where our students should learn how to defend precisely and safely against an attacker. Most of the self-defense techniques are from our Karate styles and the style Kóu Jishu which was developed by grandmaster Abed El Saleh. Apart from that master Georg Gross, Roland Beck and Alexander Schicker improved many of the old techniques and even introduced new ones over the time. In doing this it was always very important to stick close to the reality and thus develop techniques which are also very practical and effective in dangerous situations. Concerning self-defense it is very important to learn every single technique like stances, blocks, punches and kicks before you combine them to a whole exercise of defense and counter-attack. These self-defense exercises have to be trained and refined constantly to assimilate them and to be able to perform them with full power. Also the reactivity increases just after a long period of constant training and finally gives one the ability to defend immediately against an unexpected attack. A good way start with self-defense is our ten hour class for beginners. Here you will learn the basics of effective self-defense. However, to reach the desired security and the necessary confidence in the self-defense techniques we would recommend a follow-on class or even to practice for a longer period of time. In this case it would be worth it to join our club as a full member and take advantage of the full range of martial arts that we offer. Among them there is Kaiwan Karate, Karate Budokan and Kickboxing.
